A day in the life of my dogs!
I have two little dogs at home and I like to be able to watch them when I'm away, I just want to make sure they are okay. (Yes I am one of those over-protective pet-mommies!) I originally bought the Cisco WVC80N but since it didn't pan or tilt I had to buy 4 just to cover half of the blind spots in the room and my dogs like to wander, so at $100 each that was getting too expensive, plus they didn't have 2 way audio, just one way and no night vision. Then I saw this Foscam and since it had good reviews I decided to give it a try. I absolutely love it!Setup was a breeze and I had it working in under a minute (i'm a bit of an electronics geeks so this may not be an average time estimate). The interface is easy to use and gives you multiple options to access the camera feed based on the browser you are using. I've tried it with IE, Firefox, and Chrome and IE gives you the most features (due to ActiveX) but I swear the resolution is better with Firefox (this could be because the image is slightly smaller and so it just appears better quality).I'm not overly thrilled with the Foscam Android app, as it didn't have controls to move the camera but it does have the 2 way audio. However there are plenty of other IP cam apps out there that you can use to control it, I use IPCamViewer Basic. The audio isn't the best, there tends to be feedback when you try to use the microphone while listening to the audio through speakers but its clear enough that my dogs seem to recognize my voice. I used it during a recent thunderstorm to calm my dogs while I was at work. The highest resolution the camera has is 640x480 which isn't the best but its good enough. There is a higher resolution camera from Foscam (I think its the 9810?) that looks like this one for $100 more but for my purposes, and probably most peoples purposes, this resolution is fine. Even in night vision mode the resolution is still pretty decent (at least for a network camera). And by the way night vision mode is awesome! I can easily make out my little pups when they are hiding in the dark corner when the world outside gets too scary.Overall I can't say enough good things about this camera. I highly recommend it, for its price point I think its one of the best on the market. Though a warning to all pet parents who have nosy animals, make sure you put it up high. When I first got the camera (before I mounted it) I set it on a high table and one of my dogs found it and started sticking his face into the camera and even now that i've mounted it I find him frequently staring directly into the camera. :-)

Great camera, even better features, only drawback is set-up and software...
I've had this little camera for quite a bit now, I bought it primarily to keep an eye on firearms and check in at home while I'm away, an addition to my home security and alarm systems. The camera itself is pretty great, great value, and the features work exactly as you expect for them to.Well, the talk and listen feature was not what I thought, but it still works in its own way (you can only listen OR talk, cant do both, think of a walkie-talkie type function)The camera resolution is pretty good, and motion detection and IR work fine, the remote movement with phone apps lags a bit, as does the video (this kinda varies with each app) but it was anticipated so there's really no negative remarks there. So as you might imagine, the only thing left to complain about is the software and the pain that it CAN be to set up.Really, if you skip the "oh this seems simple, how hard can port forwarding be, even though I've never done it..." mind set, and actually call the good folks at Foscam, you can have this little bugger set up and goin in no time.If you however, decide to try this yourself, and have never messed with your router settings and things of that sort, I recommend you reconsider, and have a tech remote access your computer and help you out.The software Foscam comes with and requires you to use, even some of the Foscam apps, seem lacking, not very intuitive, and sometimes defeat the purpose of having these cameras.A simple function, like On/Off push notifications for motion detection is missing, and even some the PAID apps don't have it.But really, third party apps and software kinda make up this slip up, and you still have the rock solid hardware that really makes for a sweet working little IP Cam.All in all, I'm more than likely to buy another couple of these and really set up an nice indoor IP surveillance system with these Foscams. I'd recommend them.

No support
These were great workhorse cameras in their day, but Foscam app won't add these any longer saying "device too old". I got 10 years of service from these (relatively poor resolution) cameras so I have no complaints besides the deliberate obsolescence forced upon us by the company.

It doesn't look new
Bought this to replaced my 7 year old Foscam camera. When I received the box, I opened it right away. The box doesn't look new and the camera doesn't look new either. I tried to installed it right away. The picture is black and white and there is no color. The picture is blurry and it hard to recognize anyone in front of it. About 10 minutes later, I decided to return it. This is my fourth purchased of the same model IP camera. I don't know if I still want to purchase again despite a very low rating of this mode. I will not recommend this product to any one.

Better than expected
I purchased this to monitor my front yard (through the front window) so I could see what is going on while working in my basement office. The thing I like best about the camera is that it is self contain. It has a web browser built in (to be used for configuration) and doesn't require a desktop application to work. You just plug the camera into the network. It needs to be hard wired initially to get it configured. Once configured it can work via hard wire or wireless. The video quality is very good and very responsive. I have had some cameras that had several second delays which is annoying, this is real time. I used the iPhone app to control and watch the camera. Note, the free version of the app does not allow you to pan and tilt. I splurged on the $3 app that allows full control of the camera. I like being able to move the camera around with my phone and iPad.When not at home I access the camera via VPN so I can't comment on setting up the port fowarding, but I image if you know basic networking that wouldn't be hard.Overall, I was impressed at how well the camera worked. I may purchase another.

Amazon ottima come sempre.

Once its set up... wow!
I love this little camera, and I've always wanted something like it. For this price range, you won't find any better. Trust me. I'm going to tell you my pros and cons, as well as how to set up the camera in little detail. The camera comes very nicely packaged and is well protected in transit. Once you unbox the camera, screw the antenna on to the antenna port and plug in the power cable to a socket and into the camera, and then take the supplied retractable ethernet cable (or your own) and connect it to the camera and a spare port on your network your almost there. Pop in the disk, click on FI8910W and choose Mac or Windows depending on your OS and launch the utility. From there you can double click on the camera and it will open up the web page and you can access the camera on your internal network using that link. The next thing you want to do is scan for your wifi and connect... very simple. After you've sorted that out, unplug the ethernet cable to test the WiFi connection is working. Great, you can now place your camera anywhere you'd like within wifi range (the cam has very good range). Now you want to enable UPnP, save, and then go to users settings and set a password next to admin. After this, you need to go to basic network settings and unckeck DHCP server and add in your settings, (DNS Server is the same as the gateway) and select a 4 digit port for example 8083. Then port forward that port in your router to the cameras IP address. It couldn't be easier. Then, outside the home you use (youripaddres):8083 if that was the port you chose.I view my camera on my iPhone 5c and iPad Mini Retina using the FosCam Pro app which has lots of amazing features. The two way audio works a treat and you can easily have a conversation on it. The picture quality is superb and the night vision works (around 7 meters).Pros: amazing quality build, amazing quality picture, amazing quality two way audio, easy controls and amazing app, motors are quiet when moving the lens.Cons: Small power cable, hard to set up if your not a teckie, a big unit, not too nice to look at, could easily brake if dropped.Overall bargin for the price. If you need help setting it up, feel free to message me! Thanks!

Delivers what is required in the most REASONABLE fashion!
Its been a month since I bought this Camera. It works pretty well, although setting this up is a little typical, but the instruction manual is explains well enough.PROS: Its clarity and "Pan-Tilt" function is very nice and smooth. Installation is well documented and the design is nice. Night vision is very good as well. Speaker volume I felt is a bit low and the there is a lot of Feedbak (loopback) when you try to speak into the camera.CONS: The original app used to see the camera on phone, does not function. So you will have to download a new app! The voice function over the web interface for the camera, works only with Internet Explorer (Windows PC) and not with Chrome or any other browser. The control functions will work well, but not the voice.
