The best there is. Great for me.
I got the 5TB drive, red and black colour. Looks very good. Its simply the best, for backups and all. I'm happy.I'm getting around 50-60MB write speed on USB 3 on old laptop. Good for me.Before this, I also had a 2TB from WD, that's also doing well till now.Seagate has improved on reliability from older days, and now are also offering free recovery services, but I have a firm belief on WD.Still, you can do your research to see what does best for you, both companies make 5 star rated, reliable products.

WD My Passport vs Seagate One Touch? Pick Seagate
Before you pull out your pitchforks, I'm a big WD fan. I have been using their products for years and have yet to have a single hard drive failure. Even my oldest powered 2TB WD My Book drive from 2013 is still alive and kicking today. That being said, Seagate products have learnt from their early mistakes and their hard drive are now more or less just as reliable as WD products (google: BackBlaze hard drive stats). However since WD have enjoyed their spot at the top, they don't feel like they need to provide anything more than the bare minimum so what you get when you buy a WD 5TB My Passport is just the hard drive and a USB cable and nothing else, no extras for 8999 INR.However, with the Seagate OneTouch 5TB, for the same price, you also get a 1 year trial of Mylio (a pretty cool self-hosted alternative of Google Photos), a 4 month trial of Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan and 3 year Rescue Data Recovery Services. The last part is the one of the best perks of getting a Seagate product. What it means is that over the 3 year warranty of your product, if your Seagate HDD breaks down, you get 1 in-lab data recovery attempt by Seagate for free. Both WD and Seagate will replace your HDD if it fails but Seagate will also attempt full data recovery on the failed drive once during that 3-year warranty period which mind you, is a huge perk. Data recovery services aren't cheap and generally cost like 10-20 times the value of the HDD itself. Now coming to performance differences between the two, I'm attaching all the different tests I've conducted on both hard drive using CrystalDiskMark 8. They're pretty much identical but WD has the lead over Seagate for smaller file transfers while Seagate does slightly better at large sequential file transfers. The WD drive was already formatted using NTFS while Seagate was using exFAT out of the box. After formatting the Seagate HDD to NTFS, the sequential write performance decreased by around 5-10 MB/s. I hadn't encrypted the WD drive but the Seagate was encrypted using the Seagate Toolkit (which may or may not have contributed to some performance decrease, I don't know).

Wonderfull tiny but elephant storage
smaller than iphone 12 but with 5TB capacity, no external power source. A wonderful piece of tech with only 8k price. Using it 6months now. Read write speed more than 100 mbps. Very well recommended.
