Hi It would be more than 7. Ours is on the garage which is definitely more than 15m and through brick walls.

Q: Does it need charging first time out of the box?

I'd say so. It had battery life in it but I charged for a couple of hours anyway- just as I would a new mobile etc.

Q: Can you connect 2 cameras to one receiver and how?

The outdoor camera must be paired with an indoor receiver to use. One indoor receiver can support up to 4 outdoor cameras.
