Reliable and Easy to Use Printer
I’ve been very happy with my Canon printer. Setup was simple, and connecting it to Wi-Fi only took a few minutes. The print quality is excellent—both text and photos come out sharp and vibrant. It’s also fairly quiet compared to other printers I’ve owned, and the speed is good for everyday use

Lost offeatures not found in other printers.
Canon allows you to setup and configure this printer using your Windows computer. For me this is a big improvement over the printer I'm replacing that requires you to use the TINY one inch screen on the printer. It is so much easier to do with a full size computer screen. You can also do nozel cleaning and alignment from your computer. Just one extra step I suggest. The default Auto Power setting is set to power off after 20 minutes. I chose to disable that but you can make your own choice.

Works Fine When It Is Recognized - AND READ DISCLAIMER
It works fine when it is recognized, but that in there lies the problem. Nearly every time I want to use it with my computer, it says it is offline. I can print from my phone just fine because it is obviously not offline, and I can use the scan function just fine, but printing, nope. At first I tried restarting my computer, which worked but is obnoxious when you are in the midst of work and have a bunch of things open, but then I realized that I can go to the printer settings, and print a test page. That kicks off the original item to be printed and also prints a test page. This is both a waste of time and money (ink and paper). The first time I printed an image, it was muted to all heck. I was like no way this is the way. So I Googled the issue. Now I can't remember how I fixed it, and I am sure I will have to Google it again the next time I want to print an image and actually see the colors. When it does print without issue, the quality is good. It is loud, which I didn't think would bug me because I don't print that often, but it is kind of annoying. Nothing I can't manage though. The scan function takes awhile, but so did my old printer, and this one has a document feeder that my old one did not, and that has been WONDERFUL. The paper tray doesn't pop out automatically, a feature my old printer had, and I miss that because where I have the printer, I don't like to keep the tray out because I fear it will get broken by my wonderful daughter who pays no attention to her surroundings. The software doesn't have Canon in the name, which makes it hard to find if you don't remember that it is IJ blah blah blah. It also looks like it is straight out of the 90s, and just has mediocre functionality. You do need an app to print from your phone. There is a Canon app, but I think the Mopria Print app is the one you want (Android).Basically do not get this printer if you don't have some level of technical acumen or if you don't have admin rights to your computer, and be prepared for having to do some research when things don't go as expected.DISCLAIMER: If you are buying this to use with a work computer to which you do not have administrative rights to create new users, DO NOT get it. This printer requires not just an admin user to install the software but a LOCAL admin user. So calling IT won't get the job done unless they believe you that it needs a local admin user and are willing to create one.

inexpensive duplex printer
The media could not be loaded. i’ve looked at so many duplex printers; hp, brother, xerox, canon. none of the other ones even came close in price to this one. i usually buy things based on reviews but for printers, i decided to do my own thing. as someone who is tech savvy and have worked with many people who aren’t, i just can’t trust y’all 😅nothing is wrong with this printer and nothing has gone wrong yet- i print my own inserts for my planner and the one i owned already (an hp) was monochromatic and didn’t duplex. the reviews kept saying this printer doesn’t duplex but it does when it comes to printing and making sure when you’re on your computer that you check the box in the print settings that says ‘print front to back’. i work in PR so i’m used to top notch printers, printing out with speed. this printer is not speedy and some could complain that it’s slow. see the attached video to watch it print one sheet with minimal text, front and backmy only complaint is that it turns itself off after a certain amount of time (which might also be a good thing?) but other than that, i find the ink to be fairly inexpensive, it matches my decor, it’s quiet enough, it prints front and back which was the main thing i wanted, and it works with my macbook + bluetooth just fine

Canon is Great! Light Office Duty Reliability
Got this to replace an aging TR8600 that suddenly developed a paper feed sensor problem that killed it. I promptly went all office space on it (shattering glass and plastic is so satisfying), and got this printer to replace it. =o) This printer was cost effective and does the job for light duty office work. I really love Canon. I've been using their products for over 2 decades now. They are reliable for a long time, and then provide great stress relieve when they break. =o)

Easier to understand and does a nice printing job
Had a Brother printer that I replaced with the Cannon. Much more user friendly I’m not really into all the new technology so this is easier for me to use.

Prints Fine but Constant Jams
printer does print nicely, but that’s about the only thing it does well. Setup took me around 30 minutes, which wasn’t too bad, but since then it has been a headache. The paper jams happen all the time, at least three times a week, and I keep having to fish out stuck sheets. It’s frustrating when I just want something quick and end up wasting time clearing jams. The wireless features and Alexa connection sound great on paper, but none of that matters if it won’t run smoothly. The duplex printing works, but again it jams so often it’s hard to rely on it. Overall I’d give it 3 stars because it does print clearly, but the constant jamming makes it more trouble than it’s worth.
