Great companion for MRCP preparation
Regardless of what specialty in medicine you are going to pursue. This book sets the foundation for core medical knowledge that every physician needs to have. Great help for MRCP(UK) preparation. I used it along side MCQs and the text is just set at the right level with the relevant information. No nonsense or clutter. All you need to know is there in one book. It's going to be in my library for years to come.

Superb
I have always been a fan of Davidson's and disappointed that for some reason or other that KC has always cornered the student market. Back in the 1980s when KC came out it was better illustrated and had a more up to date feel than Davidsons but there has been a great deal of catch up. I as initially a fan of K&C and have owned every edition of both since 1987 but the most recent KC editions have become bloated. Davidson's has become my favourite medium sized medical text and I wish more people would give it a chance. It is beautifully presented and tightly written with more of a narrative style than the lists of bullet points seen in KC. A lot of information is contained in tables and the diagrams which mustn't be ignored. It contains a wealth of clinical information. At the end of the day it is a question of personal choice and preferred style - both books will get you through general medical undergraduate and postgraduate exams.

Great Book
I am so glad I chose Davidson's, it is perfect for Internal Medicine; delivers all the necessary information clearly, through text, tables, charts, images - really well thought out -, then it has more additional information to help contextualize and expand.Excellent.

A perfect classic
My first copy of Davidson's was in 1974. This has really advanced since then and is the perfect all-rounder for medical undergraduates and those who teach them. It is also super for scientists who are studying for the scientific entry into FRCPath. I definitely recommend it.

Davidson's Medicine
I have used Davidson's for many years. With each new addition it becomes an even more excellent resource. well layed out useful for reference and especially for full systems study. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good all rounder.

Good learning aid, but not necessarilyin-depth enough to be useful for a working medical professional.
According to my wife, who is a GP, and for whom this book was purchased, this is a nice, well-organised book that she enjoyed having around when she was a student.I am sure it serves its purpose well as a learning aid, but a major problem with it is it's not in-depth enough to be of much use to the working medical professional. It covers too much ground and therefore gives a decent overview, but seldom the more complex answers you might be looking for. The potential for having more detail is there but not followed all the way through. In her work, my wife thus usually finds herself having to consult any of several serious and up-to-date medical websites for the in-depth information she had hoped this book should be able to give her.
