NGK (6597) BPR5EIX Iridium IX Spark Plug, Pack of 1

I am using this plug on my Honda lawn mower (HRX series). The main thing that I have noticed is that the mower uses a lot less gasoline than with the OEM NGK plug. I replaced the OEM plug shortly after I purchased my mower because I like to experiment. It takes me a little more than an hour to cut my lawn. I used to have to stop and refill. After I started using this Iridium plug, I still have a quarter tank left over after I finish mowing. It was hard to believe that one spark plug has made such a difference, but it has been like that for two years so far. I tried another Iridium plug (DENSO) without the same results, possibly because I had to adjust the gap. I also noticed misfires with that plug. This NGK Iridium came gapped with the OEM spec. To me using a lot less gas to mow the same lawn means that it is making the engine run a lot more efficiently. I have not noticed any negative effect from this plug. It still looks good and should last me several more seasons. I have already replaced the plug on my power washer and snow blower with an NGK Iridium.

Great spark plug, fit perfectly in new Honda push lawn mower. Starts up immediately. I'm sure this plug will be much more efficient than a standard plug which will burn less gas and less pollution. I prefer using iridium plugs in all my engines (small and large), including vehicles, boats, atvs, etc... as they improve overall efficiency. You WILL save gas $$$ and your engine will be cleaner by using iridium plugs, therefore preventing further maintenance issues down the road. Highly recommend.

I purchased the BPR5EIX for use on a Honda mower, as have others in the reviews. I was surprised that after I installed it and went to pull start the motor it would not turn over. Apparently, the ground electrode is not formed correctly making the plug extend further into the chamber than it should. Fortunately, the motor does not appear to have been damaged. The return window was closed before I tried to install it. Went back to the BPR5ES.

NGK Iridium-IX is all I buy now for my Toyota 22R. They work great on carbureted engines because they fire much hotter. My local parts shops stopped carrying them so I came to Amazon. Cheaper on Amazon than they were local anyways. Highly recommended.
