Q: Are the handles screwed on or attached with rivets that can be seen from inside the pot? Screwed on handles almost always get loose.

They have screws that can be tightened. The problem I had is the lid handle kept coming unscrewed. Then the tab that keeps it from turning broke off. Trying to find a replacement. I love the pot, hate the plastic.

Q: 5 quarts doesn't sound very big to me. How much pasta can be cooked at one time in this pot? Thanks!

It's a big pot, plenty big enough for a family of four - six. A great pot for boiling potatoes, carrots in fact anything that needs boiling and straining. It is also very easy to clean, food just falls off the coating. I think it is a wonderful pot and I have used one for twenty years and have only needed another as I gave my old one to a friend who had no pots during a change of house. I can't fault this pot, worth every penny.

Q: Could an expandable/collapsible metal veggie steamer fit inside, seeing as though this item is oval?

Yes, I t is oval. And I would recommend a silicone steamer insert. More likely to fit, and won't scratch non stick interior of pot.

Q: It is not teflon inside is it?? Someone stated that it was and i thought this was not used any longer?

I believe it is anodized aluminum (non-stick surface inside) and a fantastic pan! Gave them away as Christmas presents because I loved mine so much.
