Only one of the valves I got works, it will open but stays stuck open. The one that does work does a good job but I’m afraid it may also get stuck open.Edit: Took it apart to figure out what broke so I could take a picture, turns out a large about of rust debris that was sitting at the bottom of the tank had stopped it from shutting. If you have this same problem try taking the valve assembly apart and cleaning it out.

I have never, ever read such atrocious instructions. Even knowing what it was and having a solid idea of what to do, they were truly worthless.The unit itself, however, works well. Assemble a few parts (very obvious), plug it in. Left knob adjusts how long it vents in seconds, right knob adjusts how often it waits between venting in minutes. I have mine set to 2 seconds every 45 minutes and it seems to be accurate enough. Couldn’t set your watch by it, but for a $25 unit you shouldn’t care that much.Good enough I’m buying another for my other compressor.

These drain valves have been working great now for weeks. Made like the one that cost four times as much.

Reducing to 1 star. DO NOT buy.Wanting to install my tank drain with proper fittings, I spent about $50 at the hardware store to pipe in solid brass lines. On the outlet side of the solenoid, I ran 3/8" copper tubing to route the condensate outside of my shop. After finishing the install I pressurized my tank, cycled the solenoid with the test button a few times, impressed myself with how quiet the drained air is (if an auto drain hasn't jump scared you, you haven't spent much time in a shop) and called it good. About three hours later, I walked back to my compressor room and was shocked to discover the solenoid was stuck open. I checked the hour meter on the compressor, and it had clocked 2 hours of run time since the auto drain install. The install that I had completed 3 hours earlier. Given the 45-minute drain time I set, that means that the FIRST TIME it was supposed to drain for 2 seconds, it failed, causing my compressor to run for 2 hours. The tank was almost too hot to touch.I have uninstalled this auto drain, purchased a DeWalt auto drain, and another quart of compressor oil to change out the baked oil. In trying to save a few bucks, I ended up spending over $200 to rectify the failure of this POS tank drain.Original review:I should have watched the installation video in the reviews first.The taper pipe thread of the solenoid block is not designed to be used with the straight pipe thread of the filter/shutoff. Guy in the video epoxied the threads together, which IS an option. The threads aren't going to come apart, it's not a safety concern, but it's extra effort I shouldn't have to do.It's a cheap kit, and it shows.Also, and this is me being nit-picky, while the solenoid is 110v rated, it's 50Hz. Only speaking for the US grid, power is supplied at 60Hz. Again, it'll work, but it could be better.You get what you pay for.

The product was not built well and broke

As advertised, longest interval is 45 mins. Threads are leaky - even with Loctite PST. Ended up having to machine some off male portion to gain more taper engagement and ultimately soldered the joint and now it works well. I wired mine into the compressor and installation is pretty clean. Happy. Warning, this thing will startle you every 45 minutes or so...even when you're expecting it! I feel like I am preserving my $850 Quincy's tank, though - so worth the trouble. She'll pump once every 20 hours or so, keeping lubrication in place - and I have air on tap all the time!
