Q: If one color cartridge runs out, can I still print black & white?

Yes, I talked with Xerox about this (pre-purchase inquiry). It's not common for laser printers to do this. They should highlight this as a feature.

Q: Can I print directly from usb drive?

Yes. Prints from my 1GB Windows formatted USB drive just fine. It does not recognize any of my Mac formatted USB. It also seems not be able to recognize Windows formatted USB drive 4GB or larger. Good luck finding a 1-4 GB USB drive.

Q: Where and what type of ink do I buy?

Last time I found it cheaper through Xerox and it shipped from CDW.
