The caddy will be fine, but the 10-pin connector may not be compatible. If you haven't already, try contacting HP Support to confirm the pin count or open up your laptop and take a look for yourself (there should be a part number to use for reference). HP computers tend to have a lot of aftermarket/third-party replacement parts available so this could work.

I bought this for my Vivobook 14 x412DA and the caddy didn't fit properly as mine arrived used and warped from heat or whatever. The SATA connecter was fine for a few months (~6) but eventually failed causing drive errors. So, yes, it will work but may fail at some point.

My caddy came used and dirty. It didn't fit properly so I opted to use some folded scrap paper to wedge my drive in my laptop which worked better than the caddy, my laptop is an ASUS Vivobook 412DA-WS33. The drive cable failed recently causing multiple drive errors requiring multiple formats after 8 months of regular use for a secondary drive that only stored data.

Hi The lil caddy should work great. 2.5 size for the new drive is industry standard. perfect unless you are Going with an HD ‘stick’ and those are screwed in elsewhere under the hood.

Cable works, the frame does not

This was mainly bought for the cable. That bit works just fine to connect my SSD to my laptop motherboard.However, this listing is also for the blue rubberized frame. It does not fit securely or well onto a 2.5" SSD. The hole nubs(bumps) are not exactly in the right spot and it is jsut too small dto allow for. Proper installation.1 star removed for improper fitting1 star removed for bad designTLDR. The cable is good but the frame is useless.

Needs to be better quality for the price

The one I received is the same color but the bands are not the same as the one pictured. Guess it doesn’t really matter since it’s tucked away inside your laptop when you install but nevertheless it still wasn’t exactly what was pictured. Additionally, one of the metal braces was just bent. It’s useable still but I don’t think the quality is great. The blue rubber also was ripped/cracked on a part of the brace. For $25 I expected more. It gets the job done when it’s all said and done though. The sata cable also was bent in two spots. It still worked so I guess that’s a plus, but I’d rather receive a sata cable that wasn’t bent like that. It makes me think I received someone’s return.
