Great option for me
This works great at home, easy to use, sturdy. Just a head’s up, you are not going to be able to do an extra wide grip pull up, because the surface area won’t allow for it. This accommodates shoulder width grip just fine, however I am an average sized female, so not sure if it may limit grip a lot for a big guy.

Works on my Metal door frame
Strong townhouse door frame. Could hear tension in walls when tightening.. took a chance with a mat on the floor so I wouldnt crush my knees if I fell... Each inch downwards was stable. At the top, sturdy, no wiggle, no sliding.. the rubber ends enhance the grip while the twisting bars press the grips extremely hard i to the metal frame.. i only review items that are a waste or a value. This is in my toolkit for homegyms. Im not allowed to pass this without doing a workout. The grip padding make this enjoyable to hold.

No Tools Needed, Excellent Pull-up Bar
This is very well made, and has a 1 year warranty. Installing it made me a little nervous, because there obviously is a lot of force on the doorframe, and there was a fear of the wood cracking. My walls are concrete, so the wood in the doorway couldn't give much. You may see some separation of the wood in the door frame when fully tightening the bar, but just do it slowly. MAKE SURE you have a very sturdy doorframe before attempting to install this. The bar has levels on either side, which is very convenient, as it can be a pain making sure it's perfectly level. To install, you twist each side, which slowly expands the bar, then when it's flush, you then use the main bar to finish tightening. The bar will absolutely not fall, or come out of place, if tightened properly. When you are twisting the bar, go until it does not twist any more. I have read reviews of removing the bar can cause it to break, this does not seem accurate. I had no problems loosening the bar, and removing it. There will be marks on the wood, which is to be expected, since all that is holding it up is the pressure on either side from expanding the bar.Highly recommend, but before buying, measure the width of the doorway, just to be sure it will fit. The bar has a nice foam grip, which makes use far more comfortable.

Good bar tricky installation
Basically a good sturdy bar but there's one strong advantage to its design and a couple of shortcomings. First, the big advantage -- you can install it in a doorway and still close the door when desired. 1) You may have to duck a little when entering the room, but you'll figure that out after a few tries. 2) The directional labels on the bar on which way to turn it to tighten it in the doorway are backwards to how it works; that's pretty obvious when you install it. The friction between the bar pads and the doorway requires excessive pressure on the door frame to prevent slipping. Making it tight enough to be safe may crack the door frame especially for adult users. It really needs shims installed between the frame and the doorway's rough opening or small blocks firmly attached to the frame below the pads on the bar. Net: Good bar once you get past the installation hassles.

Excellent Product
Excellent product! Everything I expected. Heavy duty construction, easy installation. One caution, doorway frames maybe too weak and shift from the pressure needed to make it sturdy. I had to try four doors to find one that worked.

Exactly what I needed
Strong pull up bar. I set it one time and it still stays at the same place. Very good product. I am very satisfied.

Strong setup
Still up! Installs really easily. Don't crank it too hard though as I did notice it started to crack the doorframe since I twisted it too hard

Great For Apartments
Set up was a little weird, but all you need to do is keep twisting. In my opinion, it's better than the ones you screw on. Does not leave damage. This thing is more secure as the sides are rubber and grip nicely. Be sure to measure your door frame first. Depending on the setup, you can only do close grip and medium grip. That's the only downside compared to the ones that hang on the actual frame. The bar has cushion grip. So if your grip strength isn't strong, you might have to do negatives and work your way up to actual pull ups. It's been a month and this thing is hanging strong. I do wish I'd have a wider door frame to do wipe grip pull ups. This is really good. The only downside is I wish is for the cushion grip to be removable. Was worth the buy.Pros: Doesn't damage door frame. Very sturdy. Reusable.Cons: Only for smaller to medium door frames. Cannot do wide grip. Foam on bar not removable.
