42" Standard TV well worth buying
Ordered to upgrade my dad's old 32" Sony. At the price point it was worth a try, even though some reviews were negative.I was suitably impressed with this TV enough for me to order one to replace the one I have, as this comes with a DVB T2 tuner (mine is a DVB T) which means that it has Freeview HD channels.Fingers crossed mine will be just as good.Update: mine was delivered super fast and even on Bank Holiday Monday.I have managed to watch some football on the HD ITV channel, and the 60hz kept up with it well. Great HD picture and sound is decent.I have also connected an old Wii using the provided cables in the box. It works. There is a scart connect, which I have attached my old VCR to. It works.I have used the usb to power my Now TV stick. It works.I have used a USB stick to record live TV. It works. However, there are absolutely zero instructions for using this function so it is very much up to the user to work out. The usual recording via EPG is there, which means that on a TV / Freeview box with a single DVB tuner, if you are watching something at the time it will switch to the programme you have set to record when the time comes.I have zero idea how to delete anything from the usb using the TV either: probably have to take it out and connect it to a computer and do it that way...As with the first TV, when the box came it was so light I wondered if there was even a TV inside. The TV is so lightweight that I would have 100% confidence putting on a bracket on any of the walls in my house. Even a plaster board partition. At this price point I am very happy with the TV. Time will tell of long lasting quality.(Btw, I haven't tried the 3.5mm out yet, nor the optical out. Nor do I have 'cable TV' or a satellite dish, which this also has connections for...)In case anyone is wondering after all of the above, I have docked a star for a few reasons:1, is that it 'only' has 2 X HDMI when my preference would be for 3.2, there is only 1 USB socket, so there has to be a choice between making it a smart TV with Now/Firestick/Roku etc (for USB to power) or as a stick Freeview recorder.3, the remote has to be pointed almost exactly in a straight line to the sensor on the TV for it to register. It is supper fast when it does, and is something that I will get used to, but it is still worth mentioning.Edit. Nearly a whole year on and all of the above still holds.Still excellent picture quality for the price point and cannot fault it, other than the points mentioned above.I considered getting another, smaller one for the bedroom, but my old supermarket TV is still going strong so these will have to stay in My List for the day I need it.

2 Small 4 me/Bad Brightness, but has all the inputs
Finally I found a TV that has all the connections I need (especially an AV one 4 my PS2). Too bad it only has ×3 HDMIs, I expected 4, but it has come as advertised. Of course the connectors are all at the back (which is a bit of a shame), so of course I payed for Amazon's TV Engineers to install it. In which they came on: Tue 4th June (06.) 2024. @12:30pm-1:00pm. Now the brightness is way too bright-you'll need to change it in the settings. Which are complex. As you can see there is not just a brightness button but a whole range of settings for it. I wish it was simpler & had just a brightness button. Appearance looks fine, but it is small & thin-which I personally dislike, since: it makes it harder to hold & more fragile. So I bought the same TV but bigger (50 ") and gave this old one to HH (Hope Housing) on: Thur 25th July (07.) 2024. Because I highly doubt Amazon would refund me especially right now. I mean it has been past 30 days. Performance is fantastic-haven't had a an issue with this as far as I'm aware. Luckily I've had that TV enginner install it for me; since the instalation process looked hard-I mean for flip sakes you have to register for this with Roku, which is stupid. During it I believe there was a card check also-just to check if you're an adult. This being even more dumb/ridicolous. Delivery is fast though. Literally ordered it on: Fri 31st May (05.) 2024. And got it the next day: Sat 1st June (06.) 2024. The signal & channels are great though and has all you need. Despite the negatives, however, it is a great product, once you get through the 1st/these hurdles. :) :)

Need to change default setting to work properly with Freeview EPG
The RCA 22 inch standard TV is good value for money if all you want is a basic TV. The picture and sound are fine and there is a good choice of inputs. However, this TV is obviously made to be sold across the world so some of the default settings are not correct for the UK and the user manual is pretty useless. This is probably trivial, but there is no indication of which way the feet should be fitted, there is no mention in the user manual and there is no picture on the box. Not in itself a problem but an example of how lacking the instructions are. Another example of the “one size fits all” nature of the instructions is that it refers to DTV channels and not Freeview which again would not appear to be an issue except that the Freeview EPG doesn’t work correctly with the default settings. All minor observations which can’t detract from the fact that this TV is excellent value…..
