Q: Does this kit need relays

If you don't have relays PLEASE add them if not already equipped. Window switches can not take the repeated high amperage if wired directly to the window motors. They will work, but will burn the switch out after a few operations. Have seen this failure many times. if not already equipped you need 4 relays for 2 windows, 1 for each operation of the window/switch.

Q: Can i just connect the power wire to my ignition?

Yes find a fuse that is hot with the ign on. I know there is a fuse in line but it is better this way.
