This puts a standard sized 2.5" drive into a 3.5" sizeI have used it in a hot swap 3.5" caddy in a serverit should fit any 2.5" drive into any 3.5" caddy/holderthe SATA connections line up perfectly with where they are meant to be on a 3.5" drive

Yes it does I got it to work in my 2008 Mac Pro

I am no expert, but as long as your HP has a spare 3.5 slot and usually secures a 3.5 disk then the caddy will work with the usual 4 x little side screws and make sure you have a spare Power and Data Cable Connector for a SATA Device then it should work just fine. I ordered additional SATA Cables which came as a pack of two, one straight end and the other had a 90 degree end which was useful for awkward angles. Good Luck. I must admit since I added a Samsung SSD to my 5 year old HP it is running like a miracle has occurred.
