Perfect Everything w Thanks
Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences! The best review for me was from a person who basically said that "If you are mechanically inclined, you won't have any trouble installing this." That was my experience. The lock arrived yesterday and I did a "PART 1" installation while watching TV. Of course, I had already watched whatever videos I could find. PART 1 was to put the lock together and test it's operation while holding it in my hand - not on a gate or door. I set up a combination to get IN the gate and a separate combination to get OUT of the gate. It all worked flawlessly and predictably.[After buying 4 of these] As mentioned, the PART 1 (the lock itself) was great. PART 2 is getting the thing installed on my metal gate... that's a whole different story. I returned Lock #2 and Lock #3 because of various installation challenges because I bought USED locks to save money. One was missing parts and the third one was designed to teach me. The spindle part needs to be modified to stay at 60mm. One way was to use a bolt and nut to lock it into position. Another way is cut a piece of plastic (a pen) tube and glue it in place. The other challenge was to ensure that both halves of the lock line up easily and precisely, which was not the case for me until I cut the opening of my gate lock area using an angle grinder (Dremel tool). Doing those two things allowed Lock #4 to be installed "easily". In fact, so easily that I went back to my first lock and made sure that it fit "better" by grinding a larger path for the lock. Bottom line is that, after the four locks, I have two that are working flawlessly. Are the locks any good? I give 5 stars to my two locks. I learned a lot and I could install these very quickly if I needed another one. If they "hold up" over time, and they should because they a simple design, my rating would stay forever. I bought a tube of black caulking to make the locks beautiful on my gates.PART 2 is partly done where the lock will be placed on a gate. It's almost done - just need some "fine tuning" to get everything smooth. I may do a video on the next one because it really is simple (thanks to all the reviewers). The lock install consists of the following steps:Step 1. Unpack the parts.Step 2. Set the combination. Decide on the combination, say 1,2,3,4. On the back side of the lock, use a small screwdriver to rotate the "dials" so that the "dot" point toward the numbers (1,2,3 & 4).Step 3. Set up the handle directions by unscrewing the handle using a small screwdriver. Move the handle to the correct direction for opening (you know what this means... left, right, or whatever). Screw down the handle. There's a square thing where the hole is that has an arrow. Rotate it point in the same direction as the handle.Step 4. Test the lock by pushing down the buttons (1,2,3,4) and turn the handle. That's it for this first part of setting up the lock.PART 2 is not hard and the manual is fair. But, as mentioned, it's reasonable and logical.Five stars? So far, solid.

Do not buy
Terrible quality

Faulty equipment
The screw extension was supposed to be pre-threaded. One of them wasn't so I had to go buy a tap and thread the hone in order to use it.

Works Great
Works great and gives a look of strong security. A bit tricky to install but have patience while installing.

Works, despite the best efforts of the instructions to utterly bungle the installation
What the heck is a "one-word screw batch"? If you know the answer, the good news is you'll have no trouble installing this. Whoever wrote the instructions clearly has nothing but complete disdain for the English language. These were obviously written in some arcane tongue, rewritten when drunk, then run through a third-rate AI translator. VEVOR if anyone there is reading (and comprehending) this, for love of the great spaghetti monster, shell out a couple bucks and pay an actual English-speaking human to translate the manual properly. As for the lock itself - it works. My biggest complaint is you can't change the combination without partially disassembling it. And as others have mentioned, the combination can be entered in any order. If you reasonably technically competent, and up to the challenge, this may be the door handle for you.

Fail. Would not recommend.
The main mechanism of this lock is nice and heavy and appears well made, but that's the only reason it gets 2 stars from me - otherwise it would be one. Here's the problems I encountered:a) the latch would move inside the door but not release back out when using the handle, b) one of the posts that holds the units together broke off because it is hollow when really it should only be hollow at the end that the screw goes in, c) the lock is very easily defeated on one side simply but unscrewing the screws, which entirely defeats the purpose of a double sided lock and finally d) the instructions are such a poor translation that they are mostly useless, including incomplete diagrams.Wouldn't recommend this. Unfortunately since I now have holes in my door, I've got to reorder a replacement. Here's hoping round two is better.
